Dialogue in the Dark Part 3 : in the Garden and Market

I waved my left hand in front of us and I found something I could hold on to. It is a  string with about 1 inch in diameter. I took my daughter's hand to hold the string. The floor shook a little and we felt a little unstable. We felt the floor with our feet and guessed that it was made of wood in rectangular shape tied together. We  heard water falling from up above, and we could guess that we were in a garden. I shouted for everyone to look out for the bridge I was now standing. Now everyone moved to the bridge.

Arm said, "Everyone hear the water?"
Everyone replied, "Yes."
"Do you think it is real water?", he continued.
Some said yes and some said no to this question.
Arm told us to check if our sense of hearing was trustworthy. In other words, could our ears tell if the sournd is real water fall or from some audio recordings. We all moved closer to the source of water sound, trying to find if water was really there. We really did find water. It was like a small pond with a small fountain in the middle. He showed us how to imagine with the place we could not see. We saw various trees, beatiful pond with lots of fish. We stood on the wooden garden bridge. We imagine the color of the trees, some with colorful flowers. The pond was full of colorful fish. At least we knew our imagination worked well in the dark.

"Now, please continue walking across the bridge. And then move over to your right." Arm gave us more instructions. We followed his instructions and found another wall. We felt more comfortable when we walked close to a wall. We found a bench. It was a garden bench made of metal. We could tell from our touching with hands. It was cold. By the bench, we found a Thai woman decorating model posting sawasdee (hello) to welcome all the guests. We touched this model for over a minute as we couldn't tell what it was at first. Next to the model was a mailbox.

Now I felt someone tried to figure out what my head was. Ploy exclaimed, "Hey guys, I found a wax model. This is so real. It is a man with beard." It was my beard. I wispered to Ploy that this was not a wax model but a real man.

"Oh, I am really sorry. Please forgive me." Ploy appologized to me. And I did not feel mad but a little amused with the thought of me being a wax figure. Everyone laughed.

We continued walking and we must have been freightened as lots of dogs were barking very close to us. There must be at least 5 of them. And I lifted my arm to the sound of dog barking. I dared to do that as I felt there should not be real dogs here. The sound did not sound so real. I then found a gate, a garage gate. So I guessed that we just walked past a house full of dogs on the other side of the gate. We found  a motorcycle as we walked past the house. Arm kept telling us to feel everything with our feet as we walked. Now we found that we walked on the concrete blocks that was designed specially to lead the blind on the sidewalks. Arm told us that we just walked across the street.
We stepped on the sidewalks and found lots of cloth racks. We found lots of clothes and we knew that we were in for a shopping. Next to the cloth shop, we found minimart that sold soaps, shampoos, facial creame, etc. Then we found a food stall full of fresh vegies and fruits. These were real stuffs, real clothes, real food real soaps, real shampoo. We could touch, we could smell, but we could not see. My daughter picked up some fruit and she could tell that it was pineapple. She was very happy and just played with the fruit.

Everyone felt more comfortable with our senses that we have left without seeing. Our guide took us along very well. No one seemed to worry that we were virtually blind in here. We didn't need our eyes at least for now. Everyone could talk jokes among ourselves. Everyone made me their dad.

"You have lots of daughers in here." Arm was joking.
"Ha Ha Ha." Yoon was laughing out load. I just smiled

"Now I will take everyone to Siam Paragon. We will take special vehicles we prepared for everyone. Please stop here. And I will take each of you aboard the vehicle." Arm approached me and continued. "Now let's start with you and Yoon. Please give me your left hand."

I raised my left hand in front of me. Arm took my hand and showed me the roof of the car. I felt it was cloth roof. "Here is the roof." Arm explained. "Now right arm please." I took my daughter's right arm with mine and point them to the front.  "Here is a guiding rail." He took our hands to feel the rail. We knew at this point that we were going to take Tuk Tuk, a famous taxi in Thailand.

"Now in front of you is a step to the car. Please slowly take a step up and you will find a seat there. There you go." We followed his instruction and took our seat on the Tuk Tuk.

"Ok. Now it is your turn, Ploy and Jib." Arm took everyone on board Tuk Tuk safely one after another. Everyone seemed excited and touched Tuk Tuk like we never saw one before. Actually, we never saw one without our eyes before. That made us very excited, I guessed.
